I totally agree and I also do it myself. A few years ago, I realized I was obsessed on the 4th of July and New Year's with trying to capture some good shots of fireworks on my digital camera. It's a standard point and shoot, consumer camera and I'm not a professional photographer. And, while I'm glad I learned enough about camera settings to get a few good shots - I realized I wasn't actually letting myself just *enjoy* the fireworks show. You know? My eyes were on my camera and the static images I was capturing, not on the fleeting show itself. I vowed to never try to take pictures of fireworks again. Same goes for pics/videos at concerts. Unless I'm truly the only observer of something I need to share - I should just enjoy being there and not trying to "capture" it on some device. Fun blog – I’ll have to add to my subscriptions!
